The School’s History

Agora International School Barcelona was founded in 2008 with the principal objective of providing a truly international education for our students, to prepare them for life within the global community. Since our inception our aim has been to encourage all our students to achieve their maximum academic and personal potential, and our excellent team of highly qualified and experienced staff are dedicated to achieving these goals.

In 2016 the School initiated the Vocational Training in Sport and Leisure, which provides students with an opportunity to gain professional qualifications in the Sport and Leisure sector, in conjunction with obtaining a Cambridge University certified English qualification (KET, PET and First Certificate). Agora International School Barcelona is the only private school in the Baix Llobregat region to offer these courses.

In 2017 the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP) was incorporated into the school’s curriculum. The IB is a prestigious international pre-university programme not only recognised by Spanish and Catalan universities but opening doors to top universities worldwide. The adoption of the IB consolidates our position as the leading international school of the region.

For schools in the NACE Group, the concept of international education is crucial to our vision and educational philosophy and one of the main features that differentiates us from other educational institutions. The NACE Schools group works to promote international culture and an open mind set for the entire school community, providing unique learning experiences at both an academic and personal level. Students have the opportunity to participate in events and activities all over the world, encouraging a spirit of global community and companionship.
